Manager II, Quality Engineer - Supply Chain at Walmart Irvington, NJ

Position Summary

Manager II, Quality Engineer – Supply Chain – responsible for leading continuous improvement initiatives in a Walmart Distribution Center, driving quality excellence, and ensuring compliance with company policies and standards of ethics.

• Promote and support company policies, initiatives, and procedures while upholding integrity and ethics.
• Lead process‑improvement projects using tools such as 5S, root‑cause analysis, Six Sigma, and time‑motion studies to eliminate quality losses within the distribution center.
• Compile and submit deviations to One Best Way playbooks and provide input to Divisional Focused Improvement Teams for project ideation and replication.
• Assist with the tactical deployment of the Quality Excellence WPS program methodology and manage the execution of top quality‑loss projects.
• Develop gap analyses and quality‑loss profile analyses to support WPS integration and create performance metrics.
• Lead quality‑related savings projects, remove loss from processes, and support Department Managers with WPS projects, associate engagement, and KPI improvements.
• Deliver functional‑area results through KPI analysis, loss elimination, and creation of standard work to reduce process variation.
• Review and respond to quality‑focused process‑improvement projects owned by area managers, ensuring timely completion.
• Coordinate and oversee job‑related activities, build relationships with key stakeholders, and maintain plans that meet customer and business needs.
• Provide supervision and development for associates by hiring, training, mentoring, assigning duties, providing recognition, and promoting a culture of belonging.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, support the Open Door Policy, and guide associates on applying policies to business processes.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering plus 3 years of experience in Quality or Process Improvement, OR5 years of experience in Engineering or Process Improvement with Lean Six Sigma experience.
• Demonstrated project ownership resulting in sustainable, long‑term savings.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and strong analytical skills.

• Experience building and implementing a Quality Management System.
• Knowledge and application of quality‑management elements including Statistical Process Control, FMEA, Quality KPIs, etc.
• Quality improvement experience in a Total Performance Management or related program environment.
