HR & STAFFING SUPPORT About the Role
Curain Healthcare Services DBA SYNERGY Home Care of Clifton-Secaucus is seeking a reliable and experienced HR & Staffing Support professional to assist with caregiver staffing, scheduling, recruitment, onboarding, and day-to-day HR support.
This is a hands-on role for someone who understands the fast-paced nature of home care and can respond quickly when staffing needs change. The ideal candidate is comfortable handling caregiver call-outs, open shifts, schedule changes, applicant follow-up, and urgent staffing needs while maintaining clear and professional communication.
Prior experience working in a home-care agency is required.
The successful candidate will be organized, responsive, resourceful, and comfortable working independently while knowing when to elevate an issue.
Key Responsibilities:Staffing & Scheduling
- Provide staffing and scheduling support during assigned hours, including evenings and rotating weekends.
- Respond promptly to caregiver call-outs, late arrivals, cancellations, and coverage issues.
- Assist with filling open, urgent, and last-minute shifts.
- Contact available caregivers and coordinate coverage based on client needs and caregiver availability.
- Communicate schedule changes, assignments, and updates clearly to caregivers.
- Follow up on unfilled shifts and outstanding staffing needs until resolved.
- Assist with maintaining accurate staffing and scheduling records.
- Follow up with caregiver applicants and prospective hires.
- Assist with caregiver recruitment and candidate communication.
- Support the onboarding process, including follow-up on required documentation and outstanding items.
- Assist with maintaining organized employee and applicant records.
- Communicate with caregivers regarding employment-related questions and follow-up items.
- Assist with routine HR administrative tasks as assigned.
- Respond professionally and promptly to caregiver and client calls, messages, and staffing-related inquiries.
- Document staffing changes, call-outs, coverage efforts, incidents, and outstanding matters.
- Maintain clear communication with management regarding staffing challenges and unresolved issues.
- Escalate significant client, caregiver, staffing, or operational concerns appropriately.
- Support the office with other staffing and HR-related responsibilities as needed.
- Previous experience working for a home-care agency is REQUIRED.
- Strong understanding of caregiver staffing and scheduling.
- Experience communicating directly with caregivers and/or clients.
- Strong organizational and follow-through skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Ability to work with urgency and remain calm under pressure.
- Strong judgment and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Dependable, responsive, and professional.
- Previous home-care staffing or scheduling experience.
- Experience with caregiver recruitment and onboarding.
- Experience using home-care scheduling software, ATS, CRM, or other staffing platforms.
- Previous HR or administrative experience within a home-care setting.
- We are looking for someone who understands that home-care staffing requires urgency, persistence, and excellent communication.
- The right person does not simply identify a staffing problem, they actively work toward solving it.
- You should be comfortable making calls, following up repeatedly when necessary, communicating with caregivers, managing changing priorities, and finding practical solutions when coverage becomes challenging.
