Our client, a manufacturer in Irvington, NJ, is seeking an experienced Master Planning and Scheduling Manager to lead production planning and supply chain coordination. This pivotal role involves developing and maintaining efficient manufacturing schedules, ensuring optimal inventory levels, and aligning demand forecasts with production capabilities. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in supply chain management, ERP systems, and lean manufacturing principles.

Monday‑Friday onsite
Salary starting at $165,000/year, commensurate with experience
Duties- Lead and manage the Production planning team of 5 business unit planners.
- Serves as a primary point of contact for and liaison with sales, engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain.
- Schedule demand based on the product mix and provide an accurate ship date lead time to the sales department.
- Assemble master schedule reporting regarding performance to the business plan, the shipment plan, the inventory plan, and the production plan.
- Collaborate with Business Unit Planners to load leveling and bottlenecks for more accurate scheduling.
- Analyze and report production hours utilization for all business units.
- Establish, measure, monitor and adjust capacity levels to execute all manufacturing schedules
- Determine available capacity before planned orders are released
- Engage in capacity management during sales and operations planning and forecasting
- Collaborates with purchasing to periodically compare current and anticipated orders with available inventory of raw materials
- Integrates sales orders with master schedule; coordinates availability of equipment and staff as needed to meet delivery dates
- Alerts appropriate staff of master schedule changes or delays
- Participates in periodic forecasting meetings with sales and other related departments; leads additional planning meetings with sales, purchasing, production, and shipping
- Assists with capacity requirements during the annual operating plan
- Plans/recommends changes in capacity to hit target levels
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field preferred; or 4-year technical degree with experience
- 8+ years experience working at a manufacturer, preferably electric/mechanical product manufacturing
- Proven experience in manufacturing planning, demand forecasting, inventory management, and production scheduling.
- Strong proficiency with ERP systems and Excel;
Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Power BI highly preferred. - In-depth knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and supply chain management best practices.
- Knowledge of Item Master Data and Bill of Materials (BOM)
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets for strategic decision-making.
- Effective leadership and project management skills with the ability to coordinate cross-functional teams and drive process improvements.
- Strong communication skills to clearly convey plans, updates, and strategic initiatives across departments. This role is integral to maintaining efficient operations within the manufacturing environment while supporting a commitment to quality and customer satisfaction.
