Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Senior Industrial Electrician with a New Jersey Class A Journeyman Electrician license to oversee and guide other electricians and ensure the optimal functioning of all equipment and machines at our facility.

The Industrial Electricians install, maintain, and repair industrial equipment and parts. Be able to understand and make decisions based on technical documents, such as blueprints, schematics, or instructions.

This position requires extensive knowledge of electrical components as well as electrical safety codes and regulations. They must be professional, technical, and mechanically proficient, also be able to operate tools near electrical components.

Full Time, including Saturdays

Key Responsibilities

Oversee and guide other electricians in the department, to ensure compliance with safety code and regulations.

  • Installing, repairing, and maintaining electrical industrial and facilities equipment.
  • Interact with work instructions and maintain parts inventory from a computer.
  • Performing scheduled inspections, servicing, and testing of equipment, PM.
  • Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations.
  • Read and understand electrical schematics and blueprints.
  • Troubleshooting malfunctions.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Work overtime as needed.
  • Perform and approve LOTO permits.
  • Perform and approve shock & arc flash risk assessments.
  • Assist and/or facilitate the completion by 3rd party supplier a electrical power systems study to include device coordination, short circuit analysis, & incident energy analysis.
Previous Experience
  • Strong knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70E, NFP
    79, and OSHA safety practices.
  • Experience in A/C 120/208/480 Volts 3 phase systems D/C 12/24 Volts.
  • Proficiency installing and bending EMT.
Educational Qualifications

Required:

High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED)

  • Required:

    Class A Journeyman Electrician License, NJ
  • Required:

    Electrical Safety & Arc Flash Training
  • Preferred:
    Electrical Technology or Engineering Degree
  • Preferred:
    Electrical Certifications demonstrating ability to perform Hand-On maintenance

Other Skills

Experience PLC Program and Troubleshooting (Allen-Bradley, Mitsubishi, Siemens).

  • An ability to work well under pressure.
  • Teamwork and problem-solving skills.
  • Efficiency and organization.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems, hand tools, and industrial equipment.
  • Knowledge of hydraulics is a plus.
  • Ability to read schematics, blueprints, and other technical documents.
  • Willing to perform physically demanding tasks, such as lifting heavy objects, climbing ladders, crawling, etc. per OSHA guidelines.
  • Both English and Spanish speaking applicants will be a plus.
  • Good communication and time management skills.
