The Lead Trainer is responsible for leading, developing, coordinating, and facilitating training programs for plant operations team members in a raw food manufacturing environment. This role partners closely with HR Trainers and Operations leadership to ensure employees receive effective onboarding, compliance, safety, operational, and skills-based training. The Lead Trainer is responsible for planning, scheduling, tracking, and maintaining training records in the company’s Learning Management System (LMS) while supporting a culture of safety, quality, and continuous learning.
Key Responsibilities- Lead, create, present, and facilitate training programs for plant operations team members across multiple departments and shifts (AM/PM).
- Partner with HR Trainers, department leaders, and subject matter experts to identify training needs and develop effective learning solutions.
- Coordinate and schedule training sessions, onboarding, refresher training, compliance training, SOPs, GMPs, food safety, safety procedures, and operational skills development.
- Ensure all training materials are current, accurate, and aligned with company policies, food safety standards, and operational requirements.
- Maintain accurate training records, certifications, attendance, and completion data within the company’s LMS.
- Track training effectiveness, compliance completion, and retraining needs; provide reporting to leadership as needed.
- Support new hire onboarding and cross-training initiatives to improve workforce flexibility and operational readiness.
- Facilitate hands-on and classroom-style training in a manufacturing environment while reinforcing safe work practices and company expectations.
- Collaborate with Operations, Quality, Safety, and HR teams to ensure training supports business objectives and compliance requirements.
- Provide training support across AM and PM shifts as business needs require.
- Experience in training, facilitation, or workforce development within a manufacturing, food production, or industrial environment preferred.
- Strong presentation, communication, and facilitation skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
- Experience creating training materials, schedules, and tracking systems.
- Knowledge of LMS platforms and training documentation management.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in both English and Spanish (bilingual preferred/required).
- Ability to work in a cold and wet raw food manufacturing environment and around production equipment.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to plan, prioritize, and manage multiple training initiatives.
- Flexible to support AM and PM shifts as business needs require.
Work is performed in a cold, wet, refrigerated raw food manufacturing environment requiring compliance with PPE, GMP, food safety, and sanitation standards. Frequent walking throughout the production floor and interaction with team members across departments and shifts.
