Summary:
The Forklift Operator - MRF is responsible for the safe operation of the forklift at a recycling facility or MRF, including stacking baled material, loading trailers, and emptying full containers throughout the facility in an efficient and safe manner.
- Perform pre‑ and post‑operation inspection of the equipment in accordance with Company policy to ensure windows, lights, mirrors are clean and equipment is in proper operating condition.
- Report to shift supervisor for daily work assignments.
- Load trailers with baled material safely and efficiently.
- Organize baled material in the warehouse.
- Coordinate with supervisor to empty full containers of recycled materials and trash bins throughout the day in and around the facility.
- Continuously monitor the condition of the equipment to keep it operationally ready at all times to minimize downtime.
- Follow all required safety policies and procedures.
- Perform other job‑related duties as assigned.
- High School diploma or GED.
- Minimum 1 year of prior related experience in forklift operation.
- Minimum 1 year of prior experience working at sites regulated by OSHA.
- Forklift certified.
- Good customer service skills to meet and exceed customer expectations.
- Professional, courteous, and cooperative demeanor toward customers and co‑workers; honesty and trustworthiness.
- Good time‑management skills to ensure assigned responsibilities are completed efficiently and safely.
- Follow‑through ability; adhere to work schedule and address challenges as they arise.
- Adhere to Company policies and rules; promote safety standards; avoid inappropriate risks.
- Maintain pride in work and strive to achieve all goals.
- Bilingual English / Spanish.
- Standing, walking, sitting, seeing, hearing, and smelling continuously.
- Problem solving, oral/written communication, analytical ability, concentration, and interpersonal abilities continuously.
- Bending, reaching, stretching, foot (pedaling), and lifting up to 50 lbs. frequently.
- Eye/hand coordination, handling, and wrist motion continuously.
- Exposure to dust, smoke, fumes, odors, grease, oil, chemicals, wet/hot conditions, and noise continuously.
- Works outside and inside.
Monday - Friday 2:30pm – 11:00pm with rotating Saturday.
CompensationSalary: $20.64 – $21.84 per hour.
