Job Description

POSITION OBJECTIVE AND SUMMARY

Coordinates and oversees the daily activities of Welding Department that includes performing various welding techniques per blueprints or drawings.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Under general guidelines of management,

· Perform TIG/ARC welding plans, creates, and develops welding techniques, procedures, instructions, and sequences.

· Production support for quality and cost improvement initiatives.

· Controls all welding procedure and performance qualifications.

· Inspects fabrication and assembly areas and checking, bends and mounts tubing.

· Proper and safe operation of hand tools and cut-off saw.

· Provide guidance and supports to Skid Assemblers.

· Interface/Interact with Purchasing to procure materials for assigned jobs.

· Prepare and produce weekly progress reports.

· Other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION

Prefer High School or GED; equivalent work experience may be substituted for education.

EXPERIENCE

Requires a minimum 2 years of welding experience and a thorough knowledge of various welding techniques.

KNOWLEDGE

Must know basic math and basic measuring techniques.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Ability to read and understand blueprints, drawings and work orders; aptitude to learn to use hand tools, power hand tools, templates, and jigs. Certified TIG and MIG welding. Certified forklift driver helpful but not required. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions. Must possess leadership ability; be organized and detail-oriented.
