RN Trainer/Supervisor
Schedule:
40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with flexible hours/days (7:00 AM - 3:30 PM or 12:00 PM - 8:00 PM) as needed to collaborate with staff.
Qualifications:
Education & Certification:
Must be an experienced Psychiatric Registered Nurse with PMH-BC nursing certification.
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years in acute inpatient pediatric, adolescent, and young adult psychiatric settings, handling both short and long term stay acute admissions. Proven experience in staff training, role-playing, and conducting practice drills. Familiarity with Joint Commission and APNA Nursing standards of care.
Experience in safe restraint, seclusion, and crisis intervention procedures. Skilled in maintaining a therapeutic milieu and utilizing therapeutic communication and counseling techniques. Competence in managing patient comorbidities, neurodevelopmental disorders, OCD, ODD, RAD, ADHD, ASD, and CD. Supervisory experience with a focus on staff coaching. Attributes:

Responsibilities:
Work in a psychiatric hospital for children, adolescents, and young adults. Short stay acute and residential programs. Engage with staff to facilitate training and support the adaptation to updated general processes. Collaborate with the Nurse Manager to implement necessary changes and improve patient care. Provide real-time coaching and guidance to staff, ensuring adherence to best practices. Direct and support the unit educator in identifying and addressing training needs.
