The Director of Business Development will establish and grow NAES Technologies presence via the development of a pipeline of prospective customers for NAES service offerings. Seek and develop business to meet the strategic objectives of the company, while also providing leadership and mentoring of subordinate staff.
Responsibilities- Provide leadership in business development activities in the assigned region.
- Create a broad network of Technical Services (TS) industry contacts through various means, including phone calls, traveling to meet with clients, and hosting client visits.
- Build business relationships and professional network with vendors, legal firms, and financial entities supplying services to the renewable generation industry.
- Identify TS new business opportunities through receiving and evaluating information regarding potential projects and provide recommendations for pursuit of same.
- Position the Company to negotiate or bid on TS projects.
- Provide customer and competitive information and be integral in the proposal process.
- Provide support to subsidiary companies in business development and proposal activities as requested.
- Represent the Company’s policies and strategies to potential clients.
- Identify business acquisition opportunities that may be of interest to the company.
- Determine practices and procedures, contributing to the development of new concepts.
- Provide input to policies and strategic planning.
- Job has budgetary preparation/compliance accountability.
- Position is accountable for sales volume generation. Job encounters a wide diversity of work situations, extremely complex in nature. Errors in judgment affect resource allocation, new business closure, and profitability of the company.

The Director of Business Development reports to the SVP Chief Strategy Officer and may manage a team of 3-4 individual contributors.
CompensationThe initial compensation is $184,300 to $211,950
Qualifications- Education:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university recognized by the United States Department of Education or equivalent. Relevant work experience may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis. - Preferred Education:
Bachelors of Science degree in engineering or equivalent from an accredited college or university recognized by the United States Department of Education or equivalent. - Years of
Experience:- Seven years of experience in a sales/marketing managerial role.
- 5 years' experience in technical service sales environments
- Preferred Experience:
Experience in Photovoltaic systems, advanced AI systems and/or robotics, and technical service sales functions - Other Considerations:
- Able to develop new business in a highly competitive and specialized market.
- Able to think and act strategically.
- High level of energy, persistence, self-starter and able to communicate both orally and in writing.
- Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills.
Normal hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Hours will be dependent on the needs of the organization.
