Commercial Superintendent

Reports To:

VP Operations

Job Mission

Facilitate the profitable construction of high-quality projects that meet or exceed customer expectations by managing the administrative and technical aspects of construction activities onsite.

Job Responsibilities
  • Job Mobilization & Pre-Project Hazard Analysis:
    Coordinate and complete the job mobilization process. Complete the pre-project Hazard Analysis Checklist.
  • Project Coordination:
    Collaborate with the Assistant Project Manager, Project Manager, and/or Senior Project Manager to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Construction Layout Oversight:
    Oversee site layout and building layout.
  • Subcontractor Management:
    Plan and execute work procedures. Interpret specifications and ensure alignment with project goals. Coordinate construction activities and schedules. Address subcontractor complaints and disputes, and work to resolve them. Request and procure RFIs (Requests for Information) from engineers and architects. Review all subcontractor and supplier submittals for conformance with specifications.
  • Quality Control:
    Inspect work to ensure it meets specifications and standards.
  • Problem Resolution:
    Collaborate with the Project Manager, subcontractors, suppliers, architects, and engineers to resolve any construction-related issues.
  • Inspection Coordination:
    Arrange and coordinate inspections as required.
  • Safety Management:
    Maintain a job site safety program and coordinate safety efforts with subcontractors.
  • Communication with Stakeholders:
    Ensure timely and effective communication with the project owner and/or owner’s representative(s).
  • Reporting and Documentation:
    Maintain daily logs, safety meeting minutes, and a four-week schedule.
  • Additional Duties:
    Perform additional assignments as requested by supervisors.
  • Schedule Management:
    Maintain the critical path schedule to ensure project timelines are met.
