As a Mortgage Loan Officer with Banner Bank, you will be part of our Mortgage Lending team. This role is focused on originating and servicing real estate loans while ensuring compliance with all Bank policies and regulations.
Job Responsibilities- Originate real estate loans from various sources:
Realtor business developed through a structured outside‑calling program, contractors, referrals from branch personnel, the general public, and walk‑in or call‑in customers. - Ensure all originated loans are entered into the Bank’s computer system and processed for underwriting submission.
- Identify opportunities and provide financing sheets for listings and Realtor/builder open houses.
- Attend weekend open houses, subdivisions, Realtor Association meetings, Builder Association meetings, and other networking events.
- Attend internal training sessions, internal sales meetings, and external training opportunities as assigned.
- Take applications or meet with clients at Bank branch locations and attend closing signing appointments as needed.
- Promote home ownership through community outreach, including first‑time home buyer classes, non‑profit community events, and inclusive marketing efforts in designated branch communities.
- Comply with Bank policies, procedures, security requirements, and all relevant government regulations.
- High school diploma required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field preferred.
- NMLS registration required.
- 3+ years of experience in residential mortgage origination.
- Proven track record of consistently closing and funding loans to meet sales goals.
- Knowledge of mortgage loan origination processes, procedures, regulations, and underwriting guidelines.
- Effective presentation, verbal, written communication, and negotiation skills.
- Knowledge of current market competition, sales strategies, trends, and activity.
- Knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations related to real‑estate lending.
- Up to 20% commission.
- Monthly guarantee of $3,800 (excluding ramp‑up period).
- Excellent commission structure.
