Role:Business Systems Analyst – Associate I
We are seeking an experienced Business Systems Analyst (BSA) to join a large‑scale, multi‑year enterprise replatforming initiative for one of the nation's largest diversified retailers. This is not a lift‑and‑shift engagement; the program involves a complete reimagining of core retail systems across Hardgoods, Grocery, Apparel, Appliances, and more, migrating from a legacy system to a modern Cloud Platform architecture.
The Opportunity- Partner with business subject matter experts (SMEs), operations teams, and product owners to elicit, document, and validate business requirements across assigned functional streams.
- Translate legacy system behavior, business rules, and process logic into structured user stories, acceptance criteria, and business rules documentation.
- Produce high‑quality Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), functional specifications, and process narrative for each epic and feature area under ownership.
- Ensure each requirement item receives its own dedicated subsection with full detail, no summarizing or grouping of distinct business rules or behaviors.
- Maintain traceability between business needs, user stories, and delivered functionality across program phases.
- Own the development of As‑Is (current‑state) process flows for all assigned functional streams documenting existing workflows, screen logic, batch processes, and operational procedures with precision and completeness.
- 5+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst or Functional Analyst, preferably in large‑scale enterprise system implementations or replatforming programs.
- Demonstrated experience working within Agile / iterative delivery models, including sprint ceremonies, backlog grooming, and acceptance criteria authoring.
- Strong background in retail operations, with exposure to one or more of the following domains:
Grocery, Hardgoods, Apparel, or Appliances. - Experience with legacy system modernization, able to read, interpret, and translate legacy screen logic, batch process flows, and business rules into modern requirements.
- Proven ability to produce detailed, high‑quality BRDs, functional specifications, user stories, and process documentation.
- Exceptional analytical and problem‑solving skills with a structured, organized approach to complex requirement sets.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable facilitating workshops and working sessions with senior business stakeholders.
- Proficiency with tools such as Jira, Azure Dev Ops, Google Suite, Confluence, Microsoft Office Suite, Lucidchart, or equivalent.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with retail‑specific systems such as POS, inventory management, merchandise planning, order management, NSI (Non‑Saleable Inventory), or shrink/loss prevention systems.
- Familiarity with large‑scale replatforming programs.

Compensation Range$36,000 – $54,000
