We’re supporting a high‑visibility enterprise client undergoing a major AI transformation initiative focused on modernizing how internal teams build, deploy, and scale work across engineering and operations. The organization is investing heavily in AI acceleration, workflow automation, and development lifecycle optimization to improve speed, governance, and long‑term operational efficiency.
Job DetailsThis is a short‑term consulting engagement for a 4‑month client project, with strong potential for extension based on performance and budget. The role can be structured as either W2 employment or a 1099 contract and is a hybrid engagement requiring onsite work in Issaquah, WA three days per week.
Typical Day- Establish Dev → Test → Prod environment pipelines for scalable deployment readiness
- Stand up Microsoft environments and support infrastructure required for implementation
- Configure platform readiness including data inputs, environment variables, and deployment workflows
- Set up centralized monitoring, telemetry, alerting, and operational dashboards
- Review and document current‑state SDLC processes across agile, waterfall, and hybrid delivery environments
- Assess baseline metrics including cycle time, throughput, failure rates, and operational bottlenecks
- Partner with Developers, Engineering Managers, TPMs, and Project Managers to identify tooling gaps and improvement opportunities
- Support lightweight pilots to test AI tooling assumptions and implementation readiness
- Help define governance standards for deployment policies, permissions, and operational procedures
- Build operational handoff plans, escalation paths, and post‑go‑live support models
- Support hyper‑care and elevated production support during rollout and stabilization phases
- You have strong Dev Ops ownership instincts and know how to create structure in fast‑moving environments
- You are highly technical but can also communicate clearly with non‑technical stakeholders
- You thrive in environments where speed, clarity, and execution matter
- You are comfortable building while also improving process, governance, and scalability
- You know how to balance delivery speed with operational excellence and long‑term maintainability
- You move quickly, solve problems proactively, and take accountability without waiting for direction
- 7+ years of experience in Dev Ops, cloud infrastructure, platform engineering, or technical consulting
- Strong experience building CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows in Microsoft environments
- Experience supporting enterprise‑scale SDLC modernization initiatives
- Strong understanding of Azure environments, Dev Ops tooling, governance, and release processes
- Experience with monitoring systems, telemetry, and production support models
- Enterprise‑level FTE or consulting experience supporting large, complex organizations is required
- Experience supporting AI, Copilot, automation, or agentic workflow initiatives
- Exposure to Power Platform, Power Automate, or enterprise AI tooling implementations
- Experience designing governance guardrails for AI‑enabled development environments
Compensation ranges from $125,000–$140,000 annualized for W2 employment or $145,000–$165,000 annualized for 1099, based on experience and alignment to the role.
