Description:
Previous perm staff are not permitted to work as travelers. All facilities honor active compact licenses. Two years of experience is required. First-time travelers are accepted. On-call shifts are 12 hours. Weekday on-call hours are from 7 pm to 7 am. Weekend and holiday on-call hours are either 7 pm to 7 am or 7 am to 7 pm. On-call duties are shared among approximately 15 RNs.
Weekend coverage is for on-call support only. Floating may be required to other campuses. Experiences required include Ortho, general surgery, urology, gynecology, and spine. Required tasks include circulating for ENT, total joints, neuro/spine, OB-GYN, ortho, plastics, and robotics. Preferences include experience with robotics and ENT, particularly with endoscope procedures. Pediatric care experience is a plus. Responsibilities involve administration of sedation, blood and blood products, drains, and epidural pumps.
Experience with PICC/Central lines, Port-A-Cath, vascular device access/care, and wound vacs is required. Robotics and ENT are strongly preferred specialties. Patient demographics include adolescents, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics. The average daily census is 20 cases per day with 10 operating rooms. Additional procedures may include abdominal and vaginal hysterectomy, appendectomy, hernia repair, and various robotic surgeries. Adequate experience in scrub roles for trauma, vascular, and orthopedic surgeries is essential.
Two references are required covering one year of experience within the last three years.
