American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring at least 2 years of L&D experience, Epic proficiency, and a WA or compact RN license.
Details- Night shift position: 4x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30
- Labor & Delivery unit with 8 labor rooms and 4 triage rooms
- Patient population includes labor, preterm labor, high-risk deliveries, GYN surgeries, low-risk antepartum, and post-op/pre-op cases
- Staffing ratio of 1:1–3
- Special procedures include blood/blood product administration, cardioversion/defibrillation, epidural pumps, PCA pumps, syringe pumps, wound vac, and administration of heparin, insulin, and magnesium sulfate
- Responsibilities span circulating, scrubbing, OB-GYN, couplet care, and transition nursery coverage
- Attends all deliveries, including high-risk
- Epic EMR experience required
- Floating required to postpartum and NICU based on skill set; travelers may also be expected to float between sister facilities within the state
- Local candidates are accepted for this position
- Active WA state RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
- Minimum 2 years of L&D nursing experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers will not be considered
- Epic EMR experience required
- Required certifications: BLS, FHM, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate
- ACLS preferred
- Proficient in IV therapy, blood/blood product administration, central line maintenance (CVC/PICC), anticoagulation therapy, insulin drips, magnesium sulfate therapy, and epidural anesthesia management
- Skilled in fetal monitoring, IUPC placement and calibration, sterile vaginal exam, triage of obstetrical patients, and C-section circulation and recovery
- 2 supervisory references covering a combined 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty are required for consideration
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
- Responsibilities include managing labor and delivery patients, assisting with high-risk deliveries, circulating and scrubbing for C-sections, antepartum and postpartum care, wound assessment, and pain management
- Teaching hospital environment
- Facility performs approximately 200–300 births per month
- Candidates who have previously worked at any Swedish facility as a permanent employee must have been separated for at least 3 months before being eligible; former permanent employees of other Providence (non-Swedish) facilities are also eligible after a 3-month separation, provided they do not reside within 50 miles of the facility
- Candidates must disclose any prior work history at a Providence facility (permanent, travel, or per diem), including location and dates
- Must commit to working 3 of the 5 designated holidays:
Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day - All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront; post-offer RTO requests may not be approved
- Refusal to float may result in termination of assignment
- Scrubs and dress code details not specified; follow facility guidelines
