American Traveler is hiring a Level II NICU Registered Nurse for a night shift travel assignment requiring at least 1 year of Level II NICU experience and prior travel nursing experience.
Details- Work in the Level II NICU unit caring for unstable newborns 32 weeks gestation and greater
- Patient population includes neonates 29-34 weeks with GI, infectious disease, neurologic, and respiratory needs
- Attends all deliveries and high-risk deliveries
- Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:30
- Weekend shifts required to meet staffing needs
- Floating may be required to Postpartum and L&D units
- Uses Epic EMR
- Active WA or compact RN license required
- Current BLS and NRP certifications required
- Minimum 1 year of Level II NICU experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Experience with breathing treatments, chest tube setup/care, and CPAP/BiPAP required
- Experience with procedure sedation and RSI (Rapid Sequence Intubation) drugs required
- Experience with cooling/warming blankets, drains, and feeding tubes required
- Experience with PICC/central lines and syringe pumps required
- Experience with couplet care and transition nursery required
- Experience with UAC and UVC catheter care required
- Experience with IV therapy, vasopressors, surfactants, and steroids required
- Experience with Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome and Bubble CPAP required
- Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
- Provide specialized care to unstable and premature newborns in a Level II NICU setting
- Support breastfeeding and handle breast milk feedings including bottle, breast, and gavage methods
- Manage isolation precautions and PPE for infectious disease cases
- Administer emergency medications and manage IV vasopressors as needed
- This facility does not accept first-time travelers
- Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must not reside within 50 miles of the facility
- Travelers are expected to float between all facilities within the state as needed
