American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring 2+ years of L&D experience and Epic proficiency.
Details- Work in a hospital Labor and Delivery unit with 8 labor rooms and 4 triage rooms
- ).Day shift schedule (4x12 hours, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM)
- Patient population includes labor, preterm labor, high risk antepartum, and low risk antepartum/L&D cases
- Unit performs 200-300 births per month
- Staffing ratio ranges from 1:1 to 1:3 depending on acuity
- Responsibilities include circulating, OB-GYN care, pre/post-op care, and scrub duties
- Attends all deliveries including high risk deliveries and GYN surgeries
- Provides couplet care and transition nursery support
- Utilizes special equipment including epidural pumps, PCA pumps, syringe pumps, and IUPC placement/calibration
- Administers blood/blood products, Heparin, Insulin, and Magnesium Sulfate therapies
- Float required to Post-Partum and NICU units based on skill set
- May be required to float between sister facilities near the contracted location
- Active WA or compact RN license required in hand at time of submission
- Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Required certifications: BLS, FHM, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate
- Preferred certification: ACLS
- Skills required include IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood and blood product administration, central line maintenance, anticoagulation and antihypertensive therapy, insulin and magnesium sulfate drips
- Experience with labor and delivery management including high risk delivery assistance, C-section circulation and recovery, sterile vaginal exams, and epidural pain management required
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Two supervisory references covering at least 1 year of employment within the last 3 years, within a comparable specialty, required
- Must provide SSN and DOB for compliance
- Provide comprehensive labor and delivery nursing care including antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum management
- Perform obstetrical triage, fetal monitoring, and wound assessment/care
- Follow isolation precautions and PPE protocols as required
- Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
- Candidates must reside within a 50-mile radius of the facility
- Former Providence perm staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
- Only one active submission to a Providence facility system-wide is allowed at a time
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
- RTO requests must be submitted upfront during the application process, as post-offer scheduling changes may not be accommodated
