American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for a Labor and Delivery unit requiring 2+ years of L&D experience, Epic proficiency, and prior travel nursing experience.
Details- Work in a Labor and Delivery unit with 8 labor rooms and 4 triage rooms
- Facility supports 200-300 births per month in a teaching hospital setting
- Patient population includes labor and preterm labor, low risk and high risk antepartum, and couplet care
- Responsibilities include circulating, OB-GYN, pre-op, post-op, and scrub duties
- Attends all deliveries including high risk deliveries and assists with GYN surgeries
- Staffing ratio ranges from 1:1 to 1:3
- Night shift schedule with 4x12 hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:30
- Floating required to Post-Partum and NICU units based on skill set
- Floating between sister facilities within the region may be required
- Active WA or compact RN license required, must be in hand at time of consideration
- Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Required certifications: BLS, FHM, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate
- ACLS certification preferred
- Skilled in administration of blood and blood products, IV therapy, and central line maintenance
- Experience with high risk delivery, C-section circulating and recovery, and sterile vaginal exams
- Proficient in epidural anesthesia support, PCA pump use, and pain management
- Experience with fetal monitoring and IUPC placement and calibration
- Knowledge of antepartum and postpartum care and procedures
- Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
- Provide comprehensive labor and delivery nursing care including antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum management
- Administer medications including anticoagulation therapy, antihypertensives, insulin drips, and magnesium sulfate therapy
- Maintain isolation precautions and PPE protocols
- Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- RTO requests should be submitted upfront during consideration, as post-offer requests may not be accommodated
- Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
- Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to qualify for travel rate, or may be considered locally at a lower rate if within radius
- Former permanent employees of this facility must wait at least 3 months and reside outside a 50-mile radius before returning as a traveler
- Former permanent employees of other Providence facilities are eligible after a 3-month separation period
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
