Experience:
Candidates must have experience in a Labor and Delivery setting. The unit has 8 labor rooms and 4 triage rooms. Responsibilities include circulating for C-sections and attending all deliveries. Special procedures will involve blood and blood product administration, cardioversion/defibrillation, and use of epidural and PCA pumps. Candidates will provide care for low-risk antepartum and postpartum patients. The patient-to-nurse ratio is typically 1:1 to 3.
The position may include floating to postpartum and NICU based on skill set. All candidates must possess skills in pain management, labor assessment, and maintaining central lines. Travelers may be expected to float between nearby facilities. Travelers' refusal to float may result in termination of assignment. Holiday coverage is required for 3 out of 5 specified holidays during the contract period.
References covering 1 year within the last 3 years are required prior to the start.
