Registered Nurse Labor and Delivery
This position is for a Registered Nurse in the Labor and Delivery specialty. The role includes care for patients in labor and preterm labor situations. The unit features 8 labor rooms and 4 triage rooms. Responsibilities include circulating, assisting with OB-GYN, and providing post-operative and pre-operative care. The nurse will also participate in low-risk antepartum and low-risk labor and delivery care.
Special procedures performed include blood and blood product administration, cardioversion, and use of epidural pumps. Other responsibilities include attending all deliveries and high-risk deliveries, GYN surgeries, and couplet care. Nurses will be involved in managing various therapies such as insulin drips and magnesium sulfate therapy. The staffing ratio is 1:1 to 3, and the nurse may be required to float to other areas based on skills.
The role requires the nurse to perform assessments and teaching for patients. Candidates must be prepared to commit to working on holidays as needed. References are required to confirm recent experience within the last three years. Refusal to float may result in termination of assignment. Providers may need to utilize communication devices provided as necessary for job duties.
