Overview
Utilizes a computerized MMIS (Materials Management Information System) and associated hardware / software, to conduct physical inventories, replenish supply areas (such as patient care and ancillary areas), receive incoming stock and non-stock freight and parcel shipments, and put away inventory items. Prepares and coordinates outgoing parcel and freight shipments. This position is also responsible for processing fax, phone, electronic order entry, and walk-up supply requests in the MSC.
Enters data into the MMIS to inventory, pick, deliver, and stock products associated with the aforementioned functions, all with a high level of accuracy to ensure accountability for all products and equipment in the MSC (Materials Service Center). Delivers stock and non-stock products, and packages to the appropriate department / areas. Rotates stock in MSC inventories, and on par levels on a first-in/first-out basis in accordance with departmental and industry standards.
This position has regular interactions with internal and external customers, including co-workers, other Swedish employees, patients and visitors, representatives from other hospitals and various vendors. May support mail function as needed.

- Coordinate outgoing parcel and freight shipments.
- Process fax, phone, electronic order entry, and walk-up supply requests in the MSC.
- Enter data into the MMIS to inventory, pick, deliver, and stock products with a high level of accuracy.
- Deliver stock and non-stock products and packages to the appropriate departments/areas.
- Rotate stock in MSC inventories, maintaining par levels on a first-in, first-out basis in accordance with departmental and industry standards.
- Interact regularly with internal and external customers, including co-workers, other Swedish employees, patients, visitors, representatives from other hospitals, and vendors.
- Support mail function as needed.
- 1 year of inventory systems, receiving, warehousing, and/or supply distribution using a computerized MMIS in a perpetual inventory system within the previous three years.
- Coursework or training in inventory and supply distribution management.
- Experience in a healthcare environment.
- Experience with material handling equipment (hand trucks, pallet jack, etc.).
- Medical terminology training.
