Senior Knitwear Designer - Men's

We are looking for a Senior Knitwear Designer specialised in Menswear to join a well-known luxury company based in Milan.
The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in luxury knitwear design, with a solid understanding of yarns, stitches, gauges, techniques, construction, fittings and product development. This role requires a highly creative yet technical designer, able to develop sophisticated menswear knitwear collections aligned with a luxury brand identity.
A strong portfolio focused on luxury menswear knitwear is essential.
Responsibilities

Design and develop luxury menswear knitwear collections, from initial concept to final production.
Conduct seasonal research on trends, colours, yarns, stitches, techniques, silhouettes and finishing details.
Translate creative direction into innovative and commercially relevant knitwear design.
Create sketches, technical drawings, mood boards, colour palettes and product proposals.
Develop stitch research, yarn experimentation, textures, jacquards, intarsia, ribs, cables and other knitwear techniques.
Work closely with the Head of Design to ensure the collection is aligned with the brand vision.
Collaborate with product development, merchandising, atelier, suppliers and manufacturers throughout the development process.
Follow the full product lifecycle, including prototypes, sampling, fittings, comments and final collection review.
Ensure high standards of luxury quality, fit, craftsmanship and technical execution.
Provide clear technical information for factories and suppliers, including stitch references, yarn details, measurements and construction notes.
Manage deadlines and collection calendars, ensuring timely delivery of design assets and samples.
Support fittings and make design or technical adjustments when needed.
Maintain strong awareness of the luxury menswear market, competitors and innovation in knitwear.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a Knitwear Designer, with strong focus on menswear.
Solid background in luxury or high-end fashion brand.
Excellent knowledge of yarns, gauges, stitches, knitwear construction and finishing techniques.
Strong creative vision combined with technical understanding of product development.
Ability to design both statement pieces and commercially relevant products.
Experience working with Italian suppliers and knitwear manufacturers is highly preferred.
Strong understanding of luxury quality standards and craftsmanship.
Based in Milan or open to relocating to Milan.
