Learning & Development Manager

Experteer Overview In diesem Pre-Opening L&D Lead role, you will shape the learning strategy and onboarding for new colleagues, ensuring operational readiness and strong cultural alignment from day one. You will partner with department heads to embed MO culture and develop scalable induction and development programs. The role drives talent progression, performance cycles and continuous improvement across the hotel’s launch phase.

This position offers the chance to influence luxury service standards at scale and collaborate with cross-property teams.

Retribuzione / Benefits Develop and implement the Pre-Opening Learning & Development Strategy aligned with business objectives and brand standards

Lead onboarding and orientation for colleagues recruited during pre-opening

Coordinate large-scale induction programs for seasonal and permanent staff

Collaborate with Department Heads to identify opening-critical competencies and ensure readiness

Support embedding Mandarin Oriental culture, values and behaviours from day one Participate in recruitment events, assessment centres and onboarding initiatives

Communicate and engage all hotel colleagues in MO culture, vision, mission and values

Design and deliver training addressing operational, behavioural and leadership needs

Develop Personal Development Plans and support career progression

Prepare and communicate the monthly Training Calendar and deliver across all levels

Maintain training records and ensure compliance with corporate and local requirements

Produce monthly/quarterly L&D reports for hotel leadership and corporate offices

Manage the annual L&D budget with the Director of People & Culture Support annual Performance Management cycle and talent review discussions

Facilitate leadership development through workshops and team-building activities

Support Quality Assurance and service excellence programmes

Support H&S and Sustainability initiatives and ensure compliance

Participate in Corporate L&D initiatives and cross-property projects

Assist with other People & Culture functions and promote colleague engagement and wellbeing

Act as a role model of MO values and behaviours

External relationships with training providers and educational institutions

Liaise with Regional and Corporate L&D teams

Build partnerships with local hospitality schools and universities for talent pipelines

Responsabilità

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience

Minimum 3 years’ experience in Learning & Development or Talent Development Experience in luxury hospitality and pre-opening environments

Experience managing learning initiatives in seasonal or resort operations (advantage)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Strong facilitation and presentation skills

Ability to influence and coach senior leaders

Strong project management and organisational skills

Proficiency with Learning Management Systems and HR platforms

Excellent analytical and reporting capabilities

Fluent English and Italian (written and spoken)
Warm, collaborative personality with a passion for people development
