Position: (Senior) Key Account Manager
Location: Turbigo

Role
The Oncology Key Account Manager will play a pivotal role in establishing Genmab in Italy with accountability for building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders, including hospitals, specialist cancer centers, academic medical institutions, and oncology professionals across Italy. This individual will be responsible for promoting Genmab’s oncology portfolio, with a focus on solid tumors and gynecologic oncology, to healthcare professionals and key decision‑makers.
The KAM will be responsible for driving product adoption and ensuring optimal regional and local access across assigned territories. The role requires a strong blend of scientific engagement, account management, stakeholder partnership, and market access capabilities. The successful candidate will work cross‑functionally to identify opportunities, remove barriers to access, and deliver value to healthcare professionals, institutions, and patients.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and execute a territory business plan to achieve or exceed commercial objectives, effectively positioning Genmab’s oncology treatments for optimal patient outcomes.
Drive brand awareness and product adoption by cultivating long‑term, value‑based partnerships with healthcare professionals and key decision‑makers.
Apply strong commercial acumen through market analysis, competitor intelligence, and agile adjustment of tactics to evolving market conditions.
Collaborate cross‑functionally with Medical Affairs, Marketing, Market Access, and other teams to align communication, materials, and initiatives with local market needs.
Identify opportunities to improve patient pathways and facilitate access to innovative treatments.
Represent Genmab with professionalism and integrity, delivering a superior, patient‑centered experience while meeting commercial goals.
Manage territory budgets and resources efficiently and in line with internal and external compliance standards.
Ensure full adherence to Italian/Spanish law, industry codes of practice, and Genmab’s internal compliance policies.
Engage effectively through both virtual and face‑to‑face channels, adapting your approach to stakeholder preferences to maximize access and engagement.
Champion Genmab’s oncology portfolio with credibility, authenticity, and a strong commitment to ethical practices.
Drive excellence in territory management through strategic planning, optimal resource utilization, and consistent, high‑quality execution of initiatives.

Regional and Local Market Access

Drive regional and local access initiatives to ensure timely product availability and uptake following national reimbursement.
Map and engage key stakeholders involved in access decision‑making, including regional payers, hospital administrators, pharmacy directors, procurement teams, and healthcare authorities.
Support inclusion of the product in regional formularies, therapeutic pathways, and hospital protocols.
Monitor regional funding mechanisms, procurement processes, and access barriers, developing tailored action plans to address them.
Collaborate closely with Market Access, Medical Affairs, and Government Affairs colleagues to implement regional strategies.

Requirements

Minimum 5 years of pharmaceutical sales experience, including at least 3 years in oncology. Expertise in gynaecological oncology and/or antibody‑drug conjugates (ADCs) is highly desirable.
Proven success working across both large pharmaceutical companies and smaller biotech organizations, with deep knowledge of the Italian/Spanish oncology ecosystem.
Demonstrated track record of exceeding sales targets within complex therapeutic areas.
Strong ability to build and maintain relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), multidisciplinary teams, and key accounts in the solid tumor market.
Solid understanding of Italy’s oncology reimbursement pathways, including regional access systems and funding mechanisms for injectable therapies.
Exceptional communication, presentation, and organizational skills, with keen attention to detail in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, CRM systems, and digital engagement tools (e.g., Veeva Engage).
Fluency in English is a plus.
Willingness to travel across the assigned Italy territory as required.
Experience launching new oncology products in the Italian market.
