Senior Accountant

About the Role:

As a Senior Accountant, you will own key components of the general ledger and close process, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of financial data. You will play a central role in month-end and year-end close, financial statement preparation, and variance analysis. Partnering closely with cross-functional teams, you will help drive process improvements, support audits, and contribute to scalable accounting practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review complex journal entries, ensuring proper documentation and alignment with GAAP.
• Perform detailed balance sheet reconciliations, promptly resolving discrepancies and issues.
• Support month-end and year-end close activities, including accruals, reclasses, and account analyses.
• Assist with the preparation of financial statements and management reporting, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Analyze account activity, investigate variances, and provide clear explanations to management.
• Support internal and external audit requests, ensuring compliance with accounting policies and controls.
• Assist with process improvements and accounting projects to enhance efficiency and scalability.
• Partner with departments across the organisation to gather financial data, clarify transactions, and support operational initiatives.

Key Requirements:

• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience in a corporate or multi‑entity environment.
• Strong month-end close experience, including journal entry preparation and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Solid understanding of US GAAP and internal control concepts.
• Advanced Excel skills, including complex formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis.
• Proven experience working with cross‑functional teams and supporting multiple stakeholders.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and identify issues.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• Experience using Net Suite or other cloud‑based ERP systems.
• Multi‑location or multi‑entity accounting experience.
• Background in retail, hospitality, entertainment, restaurant, service, or PE‑backed organisations.
• Experience supporting process improvement initiatives and system enhancements.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• CPA or progress toward CPA certification preferred.
• Additional certifications in accounting or financial systems (e.g., Net Suite, Excel) are a plus.
