Senior Accountant - Construction Contractor

Our client, a growing multi-entity organization, is seeking a Senior Accountant to play a key role in managing financial operations, improving accounting processes, and supporting accurate financial reporting. This is a high-impact position for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, building structure, and partnering closely with operations and leadership teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes across multiple business entities.
• Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements.
• Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with GAAP.
• Assist with consolidations and intercompany accounting activities.
• Support job cost accounting, project tracking, and profitability analysis.
• Monitor work-in-progress (WIP) schedules and revenue recognition for project-based work.
• Partner with operations to analyze labor costs, margins, and overall project performance.
• Assist with payroll accounting, benefits accruals, and related reconciliations.
• Support annual audits, tax compliance, and regulatory reporting requirements.
• Maintain and strengthen internal controls while helping streamline accounting processes and reporting.
• Participate in ERP system optimization, automation initiatives, and process improvement efforts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting.
• Experience with in construction, project-based, or multi-entity organizations.
• Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical abilities.
• Experience working in a fast-paced, growing environment with multiple priorities.
• ERP system experience required;
  Net Suite experience is a plus.
• CPA designation or active pursuit of CPA is preferred.
