Job Title: Customer Service Representative/Accounting Clerk

Location: Itasca, IL Employment Type: Full-Time (M-F, 8 AM-5 PM), In Person Reports To: Distributions Co Ops Manager & Controller

Position Overview

Display Supply & Lighting, Inc. is seeking an organized, customer-focused Customer Service Representative who excels in accurate data entry and managing customer inquiries with professionalism and efficiency. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and meticulous attention to detail. Familiarity with Sage Business Works ERP is strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to customer inquiries via phone, email, and other channels in a timely and professional manner.
  • Enter and update customer orders, quotes, and account information with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Use Sage Business Works ERP to process orders, check inventory, generate invoices, and track shipments across multiple companies within the organization.
  • Provide product information, pricing, and order status updates to customers and internal staff.
  • Resolve customer issues, including order discrepancies, billing questions, and shipment concerns.
  • Coordinate with warehouse, sales, and management teams to ensure accurate and on-time order fulfillment.
  • Maintain thorough and up-to-date customer records and documentation.
  • Work with the Controller to provide daily assistance and reporting as required.
  • Support additional administrative tasks as needed.
Required Qualifications
  • 1-3 years of customer service or inside sales support experience (B2B preferred).
  • Strong, accurate data entry and typing skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Outlook and Excel).
  • Ability to problem-solve and de-escalate customer issues professionally.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience using Sage Business Works ERP or another ERP/order-processing system.
  • Experience in a distribution, manufacturing, or small-business environment.
  • Familiarity with basic order logistics (inventory, shipping, invoicing).
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Understanding of financial intricacies & reports.

Compensation & Benefits Base Pay / Hourly Rate
  • Range: $17 - $24 per hour (Experience and qualifications dependent)
    • Overtime may be requested, from time to time, for project assistance.
      • Pay rate = 1.5x base pay
    • Annual bonus potential based upon meeting KPIs
