Operational Account Manager, Air Expedite
Schedule:
Monday – Friday (in office), with a rotating remote weekend schedule every third weekend (Saturday–Sunday).

The Operational Account Manager, Air Expedite is an integral part of the Road US team’s freight brokerage operations and assists with establishing and developing relationships with customers by providing exceptional customer service. Responsibilities include developing the branch’s house accounts, seeking new growth opportunities, and overseeing communication with clients.
Duties & Responsibilities- Develop overall customer relationships via phone, email, and in person.
- Negotiate with transportation carriers and providers to obtain and set rates and determine services available.
- Research and identify growth opportunities within the branch’s house accounts.
- Investigate, action, and establish new customer leads and opportunities.
- Examine customer requests to provide the best service options and pricing available.
- Proactively handle customer shipment requests.
- Utilize the TMS system and provide data input to facilitate material movement, planning, and scheduling.
- Provide direction and set pricing guidelines for the Carrier Sales team.
- Monitor shipment tracking progression from pickup through delivery and communicate accurate and up-to-date information to the customer and/or Key Account Manager.
- Ensure customer expectations are met or exceeded through close communication with the Carrier Sales team.
- Track and trace shipments from pickup through delivery to ensure accurate and up-to-date shipment information is being provided to customers.
- Prepare spend reports as needed and hold regular check‑ins via Q or M with the customer.
- Perform other duties and project work as assigned by manager.
- High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required;
College degree in Business Administration, Logistics, or Supply Chain Management preferred. - 3 years’ experience in logistics, transportation brokerage, or related field required, 5+ years preferred.
- Experience with transportation management systems.
- Preferably 2 years’ experience managing Air Freight.
- Proficient with all Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint).
- Solid analytical experience in Excel required.
- Driven, enthusiastic, and highly motivated.
- High attention to detail and ability to multitask.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to thrive under deadlines and work in a team environment while delivering independent results.
- Excellent interpersonal communication and problem‑solving skills (verbal, written, in person).
- Strong prioritization skills and sense of urgency.
- Proficiency in using a Windows‑based computer.
- Strong ability to persuade, negotiate, and influence others.
- Ability to work flexible hours.
- Strong mathematical skills for pricing, negotiating, and project development.
Primarily sedentary office work: sitting for extended periods, speaking on phone, and using computer. Occasional standing, walking, reaching, and bending; lifting or moving materials up to 15 pounds.
Work EnvironmentProfessional office environment with moderate noise levels, frequent communication via phone, email, and virtual platforms. Occasional visits to operational areas requiring safety guidelines and personal protective equipment. Flexibility in work hours may be required.
CompensationExpected base pay range: $62,500 – $84,500 annual.
