Overview
The Senior Instructional Design Specialist is a highly experienced professional responsible for leading the end‑to‑end design, development, and implementation of complex, high‑impact learning solutions that enhance organizational performance. This role serves as a strategic consultant, applying advanced knowledge of instructional design methodologies, learning science, and emerging technologies to solve significant business challenges. Responsibilities include supporting the L&D function, mentoring junior teammates, managing relationships with senior stakeholders, and championing best practices.
Responsibilities- Design and develop instructional materials across e‑learning, VILT, in‑person workshops, and blended learning solutions. Create and maintain project documentation, including design documents, storyboards, and scripts.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts, project managers, and other stakeholders to gather content, identify learning objectives, and ensure accuracy and relevance of training materials.
- Assist in evaluation of training effectiveness by collecting feedback, analyzing data, and recommending revisions and improvements.
- Research and stay current with new trends, technologies, and best practices in instructional design, adult learning theory, and educational technology.
- Perform other duties as assigned and comply with all policies and standards.
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Human Resources, Communications, or related field required.
- Experience: 5+ years of instructional design and work experience in a medium to large organization.
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Advanced e‑learning development with Articulate Storyline 360 and/or Adobe Captivate; scenario‑based learning, simulations, and advanced variable functionality; graphic design and multimedia/video editing; proficiency with Learning Management Systems and Microsoft Office 365 Suite; excellent presentation, written, and verbal communication; strong organization, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment; consult with senior business leaders and align learning strategy to KPIs.

Certifications:
Instructional Design or e‑learning development certification (e.g., CPLP) required; advanced certification in a core (e.g., Design Thinking, Performance Consulting) required; PMP preferred.
Wage range: $82,730.00 – $ (may vary by geography, knowledge, skills, and experience).
