Senior Architect | Residential Remodeling – Itasca, IL – Full-Time
We are seeking a Senior Architect to join an established and growing residential design-build team. This is an exciting opportunity to lead architectural design, collaborate with talented professionals, and make a meaningful impact on high-quality remodeling projects throughout the Chicagoland area. KeyImpact Areas Lead Architectural Design & Documentation
- Develop architectural plans, construction drawings, and permit-ready documentation for residential remodeling projects.
- Produce accurate floor plans, elevations, sections, details, and construction documents.
- Ensure drawings comply with applicable building codes, zoning regulations, and industry standards.
- Review drawings for quality, constructability, and completion.
- Meet with homeowners to understand their goals, project vision, and budget.
- Present design concepts, review plans, and incorporate client feedback throughout the design process.
- Provide exceptional communication and guidance from initial consultation through project completion.
- Work closely with designers, project managers, estimators, and construction personnel to ensure successful project execution.
- Participate in internal design reviews and planning meetings.
- Provide architectural support throughout construction as needed.
- Manage multiple residential projects simultaneously while maintaining quality and meeting deadlines.
- Coordinate project schedules and design deliverables.
- Proactively identify and resolve design challenges throughout the project lifecycle.
- Create and revise architectural drawings using Revit, Chief Architect, or similar drafting software.
- Develop detailed remodeling plans that accurately reflect existing conditions and proposed improvements.
- Maintain organized project documentation and drawing revisions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture (minimum four-year Architecture degree required).
- Minimum of 7 years of architectural drafting experience, with a strong emphasis on residential remodeling and renovation.
- Experience with Revit and/or Chief Architect.
- Strong understanding of residential construction methods, detailing, and building codes.
- Experience meeting directly with clients and collaborating with internal project teams.
- Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects while staying organized and focused.
