This role requires a hands-on problem solver with 10+ years of technical sales, sales engineering, field service sales, and/or construction/site-based customer support experience. You will work directly with customers to support installed equipment, coordinate site builds, identify aftermarket opportunities, and provide technical recommendations that drive long-term value.
This position blends technical field knowledge, customer engagement, and solution-based selling for aftermarket parts, upgrades, retrofits, and service offerings.
Key Responsibilities- Serve as the primary customer contact for all aftermarket needs, including service parts, retrofits, upgrades, field modifications, and replacement components.
- Conduct onsite customer visits, equipment assessments, and field walk-throughs to identify aftermarket and site build opportunities.
- Provide technical recommendations based on equipment condition, system performance, and customer needs.
- Leverage mechanical/electrical expertise to interpret equipment configurations, specifications, diagrams, and field conditions.
- Recommend solutions related to layouts, electrical systems, heating and cooling components, enclosure integrity, or system enhancements.
- Work with Engineering and Applications teams to scope modifications or upgrades aligned with customer requirements.
- Support customers involved in construction, site builds, installation, or commissioning activities where aftermarket components or technical guidance are needed.
- Understand field integration challenges (MEP coordination, power distribution, equipment fit-up, environmental conditions).
- Manage RFQs for aftermarket parts, engineered modifications, and service packages.
- Prepare accurate, timely quotes and technical clarifications.
- Ensure proposals reflect the correct scope, configuration, and field conditions.
- Work closely with Engineering, Service, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and the broader Sales organization.
- Coordinate delivery timelines, part availability, and field execution requirements.
- Willingness to travel 25–35% across North America for customer visits, site evaluations, equipment inspections, and field meetings.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical discipline preferred.
- 10+ years of technical sales or sales engineering experience, ideally in aftermarket, field service, engineered products, or capital equipment.
- Field-based experience working directly with customers in industrial, construction, or installation environments.
- Ability to read/interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, field layouts, and equipment documentation.
- Strong understanding of mechanical (structural)/electrical systems integration and equipment lifecycle needs.
- Experience with sizing and understanding HVAC’s.
- Excellent communication and customer relationship skills.
- Proficiency with CRM systems (Salesforce preferred) and Microsoft Office.
- Experience with enclosure systems, modular buildings, or equipment housings.
- Familiarity with construction sites, commissioning work, MEP coordination, or field service operations.
- Prior experience supporting installed equipment bases or aftermarket programs.
- Background with capital equipment sales or long-cycle technical customer relationships.
- Onsite in Itasca, IL
- Close collaboration with engineering, service, and manufacturing teams
