Hannover Re Services is currently seeking talented candidates for our open AVP, Underwriting Auditor position. This is a Full‑Time role within the Audit Team department. Job Summary:
Assistant Vice President Underwriting Auditors play a key role in supporting P&C treaty and facultative underwriters by evaluating clients' underwriting practices through detailed file reviews and management meetings. Additionally, they leverage their expertise to provide clients recommendations for improving underwriting quality and aligning with current industry standards and emerging trends.
Essential Functions:
- (80%) Conduct on‑site and remote underwriting audits, consisting of file reviews, meetings with clients’ senior management, drafting of audit documentation (e.g., audit reports, recommendation letters…) and social engagements (e.g., dinners, cocktail receptions)
- (10%) Provide support and guidance to underwriters on specific underwriting matters, market trends and emerging risks
- (10%) Schedule audits with clients (including travel arrangements)
- Plans and aligns

Essential knowledge skills and abilities:
- Thorough knowledge (15+ years) of U.S. Primary and Reinsurance Underwriting across multiple P&C lines of business
- Bachelor’s degree in a commercial field (e.g., Economics, Business administration, Banking, Finance, Law or similar)
- Advanced industry designations (e.g., CPCU, ARe, RPLU, MBA…)
- Solid communication with senior executives, both internally and with clients, including the ability to articulate complex audit findings and recommendations effectively
- Capacity for detail‑oriented thinking with strong analytical skills
- Intermediate MS‑Office (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and computer skills
- Willingness to travel on a regular basis
Desired knowledge skills and abilities:
- Masters’ degree in a commercial field (e.g., Economics, Business administration, Banking, Finance, Law or similar)
- Advanced MS‑Office (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and computer skills
- Intermediate Power
BI knowledge - Experience with underwriting management platforms
Travel:
- 40‑60% including overnight stays
Total Compensation (Inclusive of base + bonus):
- $157,800 - $213,400
