As a dedicated and compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care and support to our residents. With a passion for customer service and a focus on individualized care, you will strive to make a positive impact on our residents' lives.
Responsibilities:
- Provide routine daily nursing care and services to residents, including bathing, hair and nail hygiene, dental and mouth care, and assisting with dressing and undressing
- Record entries on flow sheets, notes, charts, and other documentation in a descriptive and informative manner
- Report changes in residents' conditions to the Nurse Supervisor/Charge Nurse immediately
- Assist residents with bowel and bladder functions, as well as incontinent residents with cleaning and drying
- Support residents in preparing for activities, social events, and appointments
- Maintain and record accurate weights and measurements of residents
- Respond promptly to residents' call lights
- Check residents' personal care needs and report any issues
Role Responsibilities – Food Service:
- Prepare residents for meals, including taking them to the bathroom, washing their hands, and positioning tables
- Record residents' food and fluid intake and report changes in their eating habits or consumption
- Perform after-meal care, including cleaning residents' hands, face, and clothing
Role Responsibilities – Safety and Infection Control:
- Immediately notify the Supervisor of any resident leaving or missing from the facility
- Follow all safety and OSHA precautions when performing duties
- Report accidents, safety violations, hazardous conditions, and defective equipment
- Follow established fire, disaster, and evacuation policies and procedures
Role Responsibilities – Resident Care/Dignity:
- Maintain the confidentiality of all resident care information and comply with HIPAA standards
- Ensure all residents are treated fairly, with kindness, dignity, and respect
- Uphold compliance with all rules regarding Residents' Rights
- Immediately report allegations of misappropriation of resident property according to facility policy
Qualifications:
- Must possess a minimum of a GED or High School Diploma
- Must have and maintain an active searchable Certified Nursing Assistant certification in the state in which the facility resides
- Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle difficult situations
- Must create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, care, and support for residents
- Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of thirty-five pounds
- Must meet health assessment requirements set forth by the policies of this facility and the state
Working Environment:
- May be subject to exposure to infectious waste, diseases, and conditions
- May be exposed to blood, body fluids, or tissues
- May be subject to handling hazardous chemicals, including tobacco smoke
