Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented MSL Business Development Coordinator to assist our insurance sales team. In this pivotal role, you will manage the entire sales process for each opportunity for one or several dedicated Business Development Executives (BDE), from initial proposal review to final delivery, while fostering strong relationships between sales, underwriting, and brokers/consultants. Your efforts will directly contribute to expanding our client base and ensuring our proposals are the most competitive in a dynamic industry.

ESSENTIAL

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Insurance, or a related field; and 2+ years’ experience in insurance sales, accounting, underwriting, or account management is preferred.

SKILLS/COMPETENCIES REQUIREMENTS:

  • Strong understanding of insurance products and underwriting processes.
  • Organizational skills and experience with prioritizing project work and tasks.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a proven ability to build rapport with brokers/consultants, clients, and colleagues.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems, superb organization skills, and a strong aptitude for leveraging technology to enhance sales processes.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead efforts in new business management by developing and implementing effective underwriting strategies.
  • Take full responsibility for managing the sales process for each opportunity, ensuring each step—from reviewing RFPs for completeness to value proposition delivery is executed with precision.
  • Serve as a critical liaison between the sales team, underwriters, and brokers/consultants, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Expand the client base by supporting sales executives in delivering compelling value propositions and by working closely with underwriters to secure the most competitive proposals possible.
  • Meet or exceed established sales targets and performance metrics for MSL Business Development Coordinator.
  • Develop and maintain strong internal and external client relationships, providing personalized service.
  • Conduct comprehensive insurance assessments, analyze claims and risks, and recommend suitable insurance and financial options.
  • Work collaboratively with underwriters to obtain documents and data required for submissions, assess risk factors, and ensure adherence to underwriting guidelines.
  • Prepare and present detailed insurance quotes to brokers/ consultants, clearly explaining coverage options, terms, and premiums.
  • Identify and act on cross-selling opportunities in collaboration with the broader sales team.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, regulatory changes, and new insurance products to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Maintain accurate client records and documentation in Sugar CRM, ensuring data integrity and timely updates.
