Air Operations Agent I Overview
The Air Operations Agent I is responsible for coordinating the day-to-day air import and export of international freight forwarding shipments out of the USA, ensuring compliance with customer requests.
Responsibilities- Work with customers to qualify shipping requirements and obtain all necessary details for shipment quotation and operations.
- Prepare accurate, profitable quotations.
- Complete the shipment process in Cargowise, including data entry, pickup/delivery scheduling, AES entry, airline bookings, routing, and operational milestone updates.
- Coordinate day-to-day air import and export of products, reviewing orders and documents.
- Track and communicate delays, damages, problems, and resolve customer issues.
- Handle all aspects of air import and export operations such as customer service, data entry, operations, and billing.
- Track shipments to ensure timely movement, updating the system immediately upon verification and correcting any deviations.
- Coordinate recovery/delivery schedules with cartage agents and international partners.
- Partner with local sales teams to communicate problems to customers, partners and other stations as needed.
- Ensure adherence to customer SOPs and company KPIs and guidelines.
- Ensure shipments are billed properly within company guidelines and timelines.
- Perform additional duties as business demands require.

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 0-2 years of freight forwarding experience preferred.
- Basic math and geography skills.
- Ability to analyze numerical data and draw conclusions.
- Basic knowledge of Cargo Wise preferred.
- Basic knowledge of freight movement, air vendors, air space configurations, container loads, special loading constraints, regulatory requirements, pricing, service routings, AIT product offerings, equipment types, incoterms, and shipment profitability.
- Basic knowledge of country regulations and AIT policies & procedures that minimize risk.
- Proficiency with arithmetic operations using units of currency, weight, volume, and distance.
- Ability to acquire job skills and learn company policies to complete routine tasks.
- Strong reading, analysis, and interpretation of verbal and written requests.
- Effective communication and presentation skills with a variety of people.
- Excellent time management to meet customer deadlines in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment.
