Job Summary
Install and maintain production, ancillary, and plant equipment in safe operating condition. Performs general maintenance and preventative/predictive maintenance on a variety of molding, auxiliary and plant support equipment. Requires knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic theory and procedure to troubleshoot, perform preventative maintenance, and complete necessary repairs. Goals include minimizing downtime due to breakdown repairs and preventive maintenance, while optimizing product quality to the maximum capability of equipment.
SpecificResponsibilities / Essential Functions
- Adheres to safety and quality policies while monitoring line operation.
- Applies mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic theory for maintenance and repair of molding, auxiliary, and support equipment.
- Analyzes, sets up, and maintains equipment for safe and continuous operation, including molding equipment, mechanical systems, and construction.
- Performs troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and repairs to minimize downtime.
- Engages in line changeovers and responds to production breakdowns and emergencies promptly.
- Maintains work area in a safe, clean, and orderly manner and keeps equipment manuals organized.
- Welds, cuts, and performs limited machining as required for repair or installation activities.
- Provides training and directs technical work of other employees.
- Assists engineering in coordination and planning of installations and modifications.
- Capable of performing maintenance on all types of plant equipment with a reasonable degree of skill and competency.
- Proficient with refrigeration, drying, conveying, fluid pumps, blowing and vacuum pumps, pneumatic circuits, welding, and fabrication.
- Reads electrical schematics, identifies symbols and control circuits, and troubleshoots PLC programs and logic.
- Successfully troubleshoots electrical circuits with accuracy.
- Installs PLCs, changes motors, installs relays and starters, and installs control circuits.
- Reads hydraulic schematics, identifies symbols and control circuits, and troubleshoots hydraulic circuits accurately.
- Repair, change, or upgrade equipment, ensuring safety guards are in place.
- Uses hand, hydraulic, and pneumatic tools competently.
- Provides training to other employees and documents preventive maintenance activities.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred or 7+ years’ experience in a maintenance role.
- Some post‑secondary technical or vocational education preferred.
- Fluent in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.
- Highly motivated with strong attention to detail.
- Demonstrated experience as a maintenance mechanic in a manufacturing environment.
- Basic math, computer, and organizational skills.
12‑hour rotating shift, 4 p.m. to 4 a.m.
CompensationStarting rate expected to be $29.60, with a range up to $34.05 depending on knowledge, skills, and experience. The salary range reflects anticipated base pay and is applicable in jurisdictions with pay transparency requirements. Compensation outside these jurisdictions may vary.
