The Role

Responsible for bringing raw materials to production lines, removing finished products, lifting cases of finished goods onto pallets, staging resin and cleaning, refilling, and maintaining blending systems, while supporting packers during the production process.

Responsibilities
  • Adhere to Amcor Rigid Plastics Safety and Quality policies and procedures.
  • Receive instructions from previous shift Material Services and current shift Quality Technician to determine required material formulations.
  • Collect virgin, regrind, and colorant materials to prepare formula mixtures.
  • Place pre‑determined amounts of virgin, regrind, and colorants into a drum secured on the blender.
  • Activate the blender following all manufacturing and safety instructions.
  • Visually inspect the mixture for even blend and proper mixing.
  • Deliver the drum to the appropriate machine.
  • Perform regrinding activity and dump full bins into a regrind drum.
  • Inspect regrind for contamination and report findings to Plant Production Manager, Production Lead/Supervisor, Quality Technician, or Mechanic.
  • Remove excess production from manufacturing and store it in the Production Area.
  • Report NCRs as necessary.
  • Perform all safety checks and preventative maintenance on the blender prior to operation.
  • Fill in as a Packer when needed:
    • Visually inspect moving bottles for defects using an approved sample.
    • Place acceptable bottles in an appropriate shipping container.
    • Place non‑conforming bottles in a "hold" container for further disposition.
    • Report recurring non‑conforming issues to Quality Technician and Mechanic.
    • Place full shipping containers on pallets for removal from the production area.
  • Perform color and material changes without supervision.
  • Keep assigned work area clean, neat, organized, and free from safety hazards.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent; 3 years of Material Services/Operator experience preferred.
  • Previous experience with assembly, hand packing, and visual inspections.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Basic math, computer, and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of plastics, colors, and additives preferred.
  • Ability to enter data accurately into an online database.
  • Strong mathematical ability.
  • Ability to visually distinguish fine color variations and other visual defects.
  • Proficient hand/eye coordination to operate equipment.
  • Ability to make priority decisions and independent judgment calls.
  • Proficient use of computer and related software.
  • Ability to work all shifts and required overtime.
Physical Requirements
  • Heavy physical demands; ability to work 12‑hour shifts, overtime, weekends, and nights.
  • Frequently carry 20–50 pounds; occasionally lift 100 pounds with assistance or a dolly.
  • Must stand/walk on concrete floors and perform bending, turning, kneeling, squatting, crawling, climbing, reaching, grabbing, and finger manipulation tasks.
  • Must multitask across multiple lines and work effectively with co‑workers.
  • Maneuver stairs and ladders; use a pallet jack.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
Starting Wage

$21.35 per hour.
