Part-Time Registered Nurse-Pre/PACU

Salary: $36.00 To $43.00 Hourly

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Part‑Time Registered Nurse‑PrePACU to join our team in Itasca. As a PACU nurse, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care before and after surgery. You will work closely with the surgical team to ensure that patients receive the highest quality care and attention. Your primary goal will be to ensure that patients are comfortable and safe throughout their surgical experience.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Active and unrestricted RN license in the state of Illinois
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a PrePACU or PACU setting
  • BLS and ACLS certification
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with electronic medical records
  • Certification in Preoperative Nursing (CNOR)
  • Experience with pain management and patient‑controlled analgesia (PCA)
Responsibilities
  • Assessing patients before surgery and providing education on the surgical process
  • Administering medications and monitoring vital signs
  • Assisting with patient positioning and preparation for surgery
  • Monitoring patients post‑surgery and providing appropriate care and interventions
  • Collaborating with the surgical team to ensure optimal patient outcomes
Skills

As a Part‑Time Registered Nurse‑PrePACU, you will utilize your strong clinical skills and attention to detail to provide exceptional patient care. You will need to be able to work collaboratively with the surgical team and communicate effectively with patients and their families. Your ability to assess and monitor patients, administer medications, and provide appropriate interventions will be critical to ensuring optimal patient outcomes.

Additionally, your proficiency with electronic medical records and knowledge of pain management techniques will be beneficial in this role.
