Execute business marketing strategies, initiate contact with existing and potential customers, identify their needs and sell and manage ongoing services to meet those needs. Assist in developing and facilitating the proposal process for specific brokers/clients including budget and pricing development, proposal writing, contract negotiations, and client presentations. Create and build long‑term client relationships. Requires extensive out‑of‑town travel, including proposal presentations, workshops, and board meetings.
ESSENTIAL
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing/Sales, or other related discipline and five to seven (5‑7) years of experience in Commercial Insurance business development and underwriting. Experience supporting the development of proposals to brokers/clients.
SKILLS/COMPETENCIES REQUIREMENTS:
- Responsible for developing and implementing individual marketing strategy.
- Manage and increase membership in assigned accounts.
- Responsible for premium growth through existing renewals and new business development.
- Call prospective customers, review and assess customer needs, and create a customer relationship.
- Establish and maintain on‑going broker, vendor, and client relationships.
- Participate in on site visits.
- Participate in board meetings.
- Facilitate, create, and conduct PowerPoint presentations.
- Prepare marketing information for customers.
- Formulate price estimates and proposals with team members and functional groups using standard models.
- Establish budgets.
- Responsible for directing contractual negotiations and assisting/participating in the negotiations as necessary.
- Responsible for professional looking documentation, including board books, proposals, and submissions.
- Track and report on the status of all proposals.
- Communicate back to internal groups the outcome of the negotiations/proposals i.e. clear details, critical time frames, and expectations.
- Oversee activities needed to support each assigned captive team.
- Actively participate in workshops and relationship building within assigned captive through interactions, structured activities, etc.
- Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
