Carrier Sales Representative II Overview

The Carrier Sales Representative II will develop and own strategic relationships with a portfolio of carriers who support AIT's network of external and internal customers. The primary role is to procure capacity and build deep relationships with our carrier partners, optimize carrier needs within AIT's freight mix, and ensure performance, communication, and integrity are kept at the highest standards.

• Establish and maintain long‑term, strategic relationships with a defined portfolio of carriers
• Prospect qualified carriers by conducting daily sourcing calls to secure consistent truck capacity meeting AIT TS compliance guidelines
• Collaborate with Account Executives and Account Managers to source opportunities to strategically match available carrier equipment to AIT customer needs
• Negotiate rates with transportation providers at or below current market rates
• Partner with carrier decision makers to align strategies to benefit both organizations
• Develop, implement, and manage dedicated capacity solutions for AIT truckload customers
• Lead monthly business reviews with top carriers and monitor carrier performance to address deficiencies with corrective action plans
• Ensure all shipments are tracked daily
• Drive automation across carrier portfolio (GPS, ELD, EDI)
• Communicate accessorial charges to Account Management team in a timely manner to ensure approval and maximum revenue per load as needed
• Suggest improvements in procedures that will increase efficiency, develop profit, and better serve customers
• Communicate with internal teammates on load status as needed
• Provide guidance and training to less experienced Carrier Sales Reps
• Wage range for this position is $21.20–$29.90, may vary by geography, knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience

• Education Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent (Required)
  • Associate's Degree (Preferred)
  • Bachelor's Degree (Preferred)
• Experience Qualifications
  • 3–5 years logistics experience (Required)
• Skills and Abilities
  • Microsoft Office Suite (Medium proficiency)
  • General truckload, OTR and intermodal terms/info (Low proficiency)
  • Transportation Management System (TMS) (Low proficiency)

In addition to base compensation, you may be eligible for a bonus based on achievement of business and/or individual performance metrics (depending on position).
