Summary
The Global Account Director, Consumer Vertical is a senior position that develops and maintains business for significant global Consumer accounts. The primary focus is selling and improving logistics solutions, including road, freight forwarding, contract logistics, customs brokerage, and other value‑added services. This role establishes and maintains long‑term strategic relationships that go beyond a single point solution. It requires a high degree of analytical skill and industry knowledge to unlock hidden value for clients.

Duties & Responsibilities- Develop and execute a comprehensive account plan aimed at maintaining existing business and identifying the top opportunities.
- Manage named global Consumer accounts in accordance with agreed financial and performance targets based on DSV processes.
- Develop solutions for named global customers; leverage DSV vertical structure and competencies into innovative developments.
- Work closely with operations to deliver a high level of service to customers.
- Identify and develop relationships with key decision makers at all levels within an account.
- Understand the customer’s buying process, business (strategically, operationally, & financially), and needs.
- Work across all divisions within DSV to create custom solutions that deliver value to customers.
- Maintain an open dialogue with the account executive sponsor and keep the sponsor engaged.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in logistics and supply chain management.
- Minimum 5 years of recent global account management experience.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in the logistics and supply chain industry.
- Subject matter expert grade knowledge of the industry.
- Proven track record of sales success within the industry.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and others).
- Advanced mathematical skills for project development.
- Advanced business acumen.
- Strong creative problem solving and analytical skills.
- Self‑motivated team player.
- Must be able to travel frequently.
English (reading, writing, verbal).
Physical DemandsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee uses hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reaches with hands and arms; stoops, kneels, or crouches; talks or hears. The employee uses computer and telephone equipment. Specific vision requirements include close vision and distance vision. Ability to travel by land, air, sea as needed.
