Our large Facilities Management client is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join their growing team in a variety of locations including Itasca, IL. This Maintenance Technician will be responsible for performing a variety of work including the maintenance and repair of buildings and grounds in assigned area(s). Essential functions and responsibilities of the position may vary by location based on client requirements and business needs.
Responsibilities- Addressing plumbing leaks and stoppages
- Lighting repairs and replacements
- Minor electrical work
- HVAC troubleshooting
- Structural repairs (carpentry)
- Painting and furniture assembly
- Communicate and coordinate with onsite clients and external vendors
- Repair various fixtures and hardware such as doors, windows, minor appliances, office equipment, etc.
- Inspect assigned area on a routine basis and perform maintenance as needed to keep the facility functioning and serviceable
- Perform on‑call duties and respond to emergency situations after hours
- Complete daily, weekly, or monthly checklists of pre‑scheduled building and equipment maintenance procedures
- Report any major maintenance need and recommend corrective action as appropriate
- Demonstrate efficient and safe use of equipment and tools
- Demonstrate commitment to professional growth and competence by adhering to component and departmental training commitments
- Experience with basic electrical, plumbing, and exterior maintenance work
- HVAC certification
- EPA certification
- Valid driver’s license with a clean motor vehicle record
- Previous commercial maintenance experience is preferred
- Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
