Field Service Technician | Ripple Fiber
About the RoleThe Field Service Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of Ripple Fiber equipment in accordance with customer requirements and company standards. Technicians also ensure that customers receive the highest level of customer service.
Responsibilities- Manage all last mile (drop and in‑home/in‑business networks) and access and in‑home or business equipment.
- Fault find and resolve complaints.
- Create and maintain network documentation.
- Use monitoring network performance tools to troubleshoot problem areas.
- Assist with escalations (2nd line support) to resolve end‑user issues.
- Configure, maintain, troubleshoot, and install broadband services such as Wi‑Fi routers and smart home devices.
- Route a fiber optic drop cable from a termination box to a router’s location.
- Install and troubleshoot internet both indoors and outdoors in various environments, including attics, basements, and crawl spaces.
- Work outside in all weather conditions.
- Drive a company vehicle and maintain a clean driving record.
- Educate customers on the features and functionality of services provided and verify all services are operational.
- Assist customers in connecting their home devices to the Ripple Fiber network.
- Valid state driver’s license and safe driving record.
- Ability to operate hand tools and handheld mobile devices.
- Experience in customer service, construction, electrical, technical, or related field (plus).
- Flexibility to work a schedule that includes evenings and weekends.
- Identification of wire and cable colors.
- Qualification on pre‑employment assessments.
- Availability for overtime, emergency call‑outs, and holiday work.
- Lift and move up to 60 lbs; some ladders weigh 50‑60 lbs.
- Work in small spaces or lofts up to 28 ft.
- Meet ladder safety weight requirements (maximum 275 lbs including gear) per OSHA standards.
