Field Service Technician (JR/Entry Level)
The Field Service Technician supports the testing, troubleshooting, repair, installation, and commissioning of electromechanical products. Approximately 50% of the role focuses on in-house repair and board-level circuit work, while the remaining 50% involves national field service travel to customer sites for installations and on-site support. This position offers strong training, mentorship, and growth opportunities for candidates interested in complex electrical and electromechanical systems.
There is also a lot of overtime opportunity and to get paid for the travel!
Essential Skills
- 1–3 years of experience in electromechanical service or field service, or a relevant technical college degree.
- Entry level candidates out of an Associates program will be considered!
- Hands-on soldering experience for board-level repair and assembly work.
- Proficiency in board-level circuit repair and analysis, including troubleshooting electronic components.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints and PCB blueprints accurately.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for a client-facing technical role.
- Electro-mechanical experience with practical experience working on electronic and mechanical assemblies.
- 1–2 years of related technical experience in testing, troubleshooting, and repair of electronic/mechanical systems.
- Willingness and ability to travel nationally up to 50% of the time.
- Ability to set up and use electronic test equipment to conduct functional and operational tests.
- Capability to adjust and calibrate electronic circuitry and components using standard electronic principles.
- Ability to solve practical problems and work with a variety of variables in field and production environments.
- Skill in interpreting instructions provided in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Itasca, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.50 - $25.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
