Our Chicago branch (Itasca, IL) is seeking an Air Export Operation Clerk with prior experience in air export operations
. This role is responsible for handling daily export procedures—booking, documentation, compliance, and cargo coordination—to ensure smooth and compliant shipment flow. We are looking for candidates with hands‑on experience in air export or freight forwarding who can manage files accurately and work effectively in a deadline‑driven environment.
Create and manage export files in Cargowise One or internal TMS based on shipping instructions (SLI).
Arrange bookings with airlines/co-loaders; confirm rates, deadlines, and coordinate pick‑ups with truckers.
Prepare and review export documents (HAWB/MAWB, invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, SLI, etc.).
File EEI through AES/ACE; check HS codes, valuation, and license requirements.
Ensure TSA/IAC compliance (Known Shipper validation, screening, security checks).
Coordinate consolidations and cargo handover at CFS/airline terminals; track flights and resolve irregularities.
Communicate with customers, agents, carriers, and internal teams to provide updates and solve issues.
Issue invoices, close files, and maintain cost/revenue records and proof of export documentation.
Provide support to other export departments as needed.
Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:30 PM or 9:00 AM–6:00 PM (1‑hour lunch)
Full‑time, on‑site (no remote work)

QualificationsMinimum 1–2 years of direct experience in air export operations or freight forwarding (required).
Knowledge of air export workflow (booking → documentation → AES filing → cargo handover) and TSA/IAC requirements.
Experience with Cargowise One strongly preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office; high accuracy in data entry and file management.
Strong organizational and communication skills; able to prioritize and meet tight deadlines.
Eligibility to work in the U.S.
(Preferred) Experience with DG handling, consolidations, or airline/CFS operations.
