Driver III

The Driver III will operate commercial truck/trailer, tractor trailer or combination vehicle (a vehicle that weighs over 26,000 lbs.) that requires a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A to pick-up and deliver parcels. AIT/Spur Drivers are responsible for safely and accurately delivering and picking up cargo, keeping accurate driving logs (ELD), and inspecting and maintaining the company trucks.

• Drive truck to and from specified destinations safely and follow all state, local laws, and DOT regulations
• A valid CDL A is required to drive a truck 26,001 lbs. or greater
• Focus on safety and compliance including real-time reporting of any accidents, incidents encountered on the road, monitoring of road conditions and following all applicable traffic laws
• Handle general fleet maintenance including appropriate fueling, cleaning of truck, washing of windows, full inspection of truck before and after trip and proactive reporting of any maintenance needs
• Prepare receipt for load picked up or bill of lading
• Maintain driver hours of service using electronic logs and ensure rest periods according to state and federal regulations
• Maintain and ensure compliance with DOT and other applicable regulations, including state or federal regulations
• Provide timely communication with supervisor/manager regarding the status of daily route; including when stops have been completed, when taking lunch or other breaks, and prior to clocking out
• Ensure timeliness of client delivery by proactively anticipating any delivery challenges and ensuring timely departure
• Inspect truck equipment and supplies, ensuring time, date, verification, and signature on all freight paperwork
• Perform emergency roadside repairs, secure cargo with proper equipment; load bars, e-track, and straps during transit
• May load and unload truck when not driving the truck
• May operate a forklift or pallet jack when not driving the truck
• Destination may be either Short Haul or Long Haul
• Maintain a clean work environment and follow safety policies
• Other duties and responsibilities will be assigned as business demands deem necessary

• Reading and writing English, knowledge of airport codes destinations and basic geography knowledge
• Must be detail oriented and able to work in fast pace, high volume environment
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Actively participates in safety policies, activities, and implementations
• Maintain a current Medical Card
• Must have Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A license
• Have an acceptable MVR (Motor Vehicle Record)
• Must be a TSA-certified truck driver and obtain a STA number upon employment
• Must be able to pass Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). exam and road test
• Cargo screening is required if driving in CA.
• No more than three moving violations in the past 36 months (or combination of two moving violations previous 12 months. Moving violations include seatbelt and cell phone violations.)
• No preventable accidents involving a fatality, bodily injuries treated away from the scene, or disabling damage to a motor vehicle within three years
• Has no conviction for driving while intoxicated or under the influence of drugs violation within the past seven years.
