Driver III
The Driver III will operate commercial truck/trailer, tractor trailer or combination vehicle (a vehicle that weighs over 26,000 lbs.) that requires a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A to pick-up and deliver parcels. AIT/Spur Drivers are responsible for safely and accurately delivering and picking up cargo, keeping accurate driving logs (ELD), and inspecting and maintaining the company trucks.
Responsibilities- Drive truck to and from specified destinations safely and follow all state, local laws, and DOT regulations
- A valid CDL A is required to drive a truck 26,001 lbs. or greater
- Focus on safety and compliance including real-time reporting of any accidents, incidents encountered on the road, monitoring of road conditions and following all applicable traffic laws
- Handle general fleet maintenance including appropriate fueling, cleaning of truck, washing of windows, full inspection of truck before and after trip and proactive reporting of any maintenance needs
- Prepare receipt for load picked up or bill of lading
- Maintain driver hours of service using electronic logs and ensure rest periods according to state and federal regulations
- Maintain and ensure compliance with DOT and other applicable regulations, including state or federal regulations
- Provide timely communication with supervisor/manager regarding the status of daily route; including when stops have been completed, when taking lunch or other breaks, and prior to clocking out
- Ensure timeliness of client delivery by proactively anticipating any delivery challenges and ensuring timely departure
- Inspect truck equipment and supplies, ensuring time, date, verification, and signature on all freight paperwork
- Perform emergency roadside repairs, secure cargo with proper equipment; load bars, e-track, and straps during transit
- May load and unload truck when not driving the truck
- May operate a forklift or pallet jack when not driving the truck
- Destination may be either Short Haul or Long Haul
- Maintain a clean work environment and follow safety policies
- Other duties and responsibilities will be assigned as business demands deem necessary

- Reading and writing English, knowledge of airport codes destinations and basic geography knowledge
- Must be detail oriented and able to work in fast pace, high volume environment
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Actively participates in safety policies, activities, and implementations
- Maintain a current Medical Card
- Must have Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A license
- Have an acceptable MVR (Motor Vehicle Record)
- Must be a TSA-certified truck driver and obtain a STA number upon employment
- Must be able to pass Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). exam and road test
- Cargo screening is required if driving in CA.
- No more than three moving violations in the past 36 months (or combination of two moving violations previous 12 months. Moving violations include seatbelt and cell phone violations.)
- No preventable accidents involving a fatality, bodily injuries treated away from the scene, or disabling damage to a motor vehicle within three years
- Has no conviction for driving while intoxicated or under the influence of drugs violation within the past seven years.
