The Opportunity
The CIDER Administrative Coordinator supports the daily operations of CIDER by providing administrative, scheduling, event coordination, and financial support. This role manages calendars, meetings, interviews, events, visitor logistics, and administrative processes to ensure efficient program operations. The coordinator also assists with financial transactions, recordkeeping, and program administration for research, training, and outreach activities. Working closely with CIDER leadership, the position helps ensure the successful execution of CIDER initiatives and programs.

Cornell's Collaboration for International Development Economics Research (CIDER) brings together experts in development economics-in particular on poverty, food insecurity, agricultural and rural development, health and education, risk management, and firm and market behavior-to build on Cornell's legacy of global development innovation. Our programs foster collaborations among faculty, staff, students, and research fellows from four Colleges across campus: the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, the College of Arts and Sciences, the Cornell Jeb
E. Brooks School of Public Policy, and the Cornell SC Johnson College of Business, to help sustainably solve the economic challenges people face around the world. CIDER physically sits in the Dyson School, in Warren Hall on the Ithaca campus. CIDER runs the Structural Transformation of Agriculture and Rural Spaces (STARS) Fellowship for early-career researchers who have earned degrees from low- and lower-middle-income countries, a Predoctoral Fellowship Program, and hosts weekly seminars and regular events that convene faculty, staff and students across campus.
Key Responsibilities
* Coordinate logistics for seminars, workshops, campus visits, professional development events, and other CIDER programs.
* Manage calendars and scheduling for meetings, interviews, workshops, and program activities.
* Arrange meetings and coordinate schedules for faculty, candidates, fellows, visitors, and external partners.
* Maintain administrative records, contact databases, mailing lists, and program files.
* Support STARS Program recruitment and selection processes, including outreach, application review, assessment coordination, interview scheduling, and candidate communications.
* Assist with STARS Program administration through file management, calendar coordination, payment processing, and deliverable tracking.
* Coordinate logistics for STARS Fellows' U.S. visits, including travel, visa support, programming, and cohort-building activities.
* Assist with pre-doctoral recruitment efforts by organizing applications, coordinating interviews, and working with faculty and HR.
* Support onboarding activities for pre-doctoral researchers, including visa documentation, workspace setup, and equipment coordination.
* Process purchases, reimbursements, contracts, stipends, advances, and other routine financial transactions.
* Maintain financial records and provide expenditure tracking reports.
* Prepare budget summaries and financial reports for management review.
* Maintain proposal templates, timelines, and proposal resource libraries.
* Research and distribute funding opportunity information to faculty and STARS Program alumni.
* Provide administrative assistance across CIDER programs and operations.
* Assist with communications, website updates, and special projects.

* Associate's degree and 2-4 years of administrative, program coordination, or operations experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
* Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Experience coordinating schedules, events, meetings, and logistics with strong attention to detail.
* Proficiency with Google Workspace, Microsoft Office Suite, and other office technology tools.
* Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment.
* Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build professional relationships with faculty, students, and external stakeholders.
* Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive information.
* Demonstrated commitment to inclusion, belonging, and wellbeing.
