Delaware County Community College (DCCC), located outside of the Philadelphia Metro area, is looking for a talented and dynamic part-time Culinary Arts & Hospitality Studies Success Coach to join our team of higher education professionals who are committed to student success.

The Culinary Arts and Hospitality Studies (CAHS) Success Coach - is responsible for supporting and guiding students in Culinary Arts and Hospitality Studies as they seek to develop skills, behaviors, and habits to enhance their own academic performance. The Success Coach will create an educational plan that supports retention and completion of the degree program.

The CAHS Success Coach will work with the Culinary Arts Director, the Coordinator of Hospitality Studies, and various departmental contacts across the College. This person should have a sensitivity to and an understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds of the community college students. The person in this position is expected to represent Delaware County Community College in a professional manner and promote a student-centered customer service approach.

The CAHS Success Coach is a 10-month, part-time, grant-funded position and will report to: the Director of Culinary Arts. This person will create and execute both individual and group programming for student growth and success.

* Provide support and guidance to the developing students in the Culinary Arts and Hospitality Studies curriculums.

* Identify and assess student needs of individuals who would benefit from individual and/or group support

* Assist academically under-prepared or underperforming students in creating and following academic success plans for improvement:
Ability to develop and execute programming/success plans for academic achievement

* Ability to develop and execute programming/success plans for study skill development

* Ability to develop and execute programming/success plans for personal and social skill development

* Ability to develop programming for successful college navigation (i.e., financial aid, registration, counseling, tutoring, career, and employment services)

* Connect students to appropriate services within the College.

* Maintain sensitivity, understanding and respect for a diverse academic environment inclusive of students, faculty, and staff of varying social, economic, cultural, ideological, and ethnic backgrounds.

* Use Microsoft office (Word, Excel, and Power Point) and Google to document, journal, and communicate.

* Work with students at least one time each week during the semester.

* Document students' sequential enrollment each semester.

* Track student performance and report periodic results to Director of Culinary Arts.

* Work collaboratively with Director of Culinary Arts in advising and registering students.

* Assist with other duties as assigned.

The successful candidate must be an engaging, effective, innovative, and dynamic partner who is strategic and fosters collaboration. This individual will be able to demonstrate the use of the best practice strategies associated with culinary arts program in a  higher education environment. This individual will demonstrate the spirit of an independent problem-solver and a strong understanding of the College's mission and goals.

The CAHS Success Coach will demonstrate a high level of sensitivity, understanding and respect for a diverse academic environment inclusive of students, faculty, and staff of varying social, economic, cultural, ideological, and ethnic backgrounds as well as the ability to encourage, model, embrace, and incorporate diverse thought and perspective of all individuals to foster an all-inclusive environment and drive results.

Qualified candidates will have a minimum of 1+ years of culinary or hospitality-related experience, technical training, or equivalent combination of education & experience;
Prior related experience in an educational setting; 2 years' experience working with non-traditional, at-risk, or disadvantaged students. Bachelor's degree in Education or Counseling.
