Brief
Description:
The Associate Principal of Inclusion supports inclusive practices, equitable access, and student success for all learners, with a particular focus on students with disabilities and those requiring accommodations. This role integrates student-centered support, team collaboration, and instructional leadership. The Associate Principal of Inclusion serves as a key liaison among families, general and special education staff, school teams, and external providers to ensure effective and compliant implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and 504 Plans.
The Associate Principal of Inclusion plays a critical role in fostering a school culture where every student can thrive. This position is ideal for a collaborative educational leader committed to equity, access, and whole-child development.

* How do you see yourself serving as an instructional administrative leader in the Ithaca City School District to meet the diverse needs of all students, faculty, staff, and community? Please refer to specific actions you would take.
* Describe a typical day as an instructional administrative leader to help us understand how your practices will fulfill our district's equity goals. Include interventions and collaborative approaches in meeting all stakeholder groups' needs.
Primary Responsibilities:
Case Management & Compliance (CSE/504)
* Chair CSE and 504 meetings, facilitating collaborative, student-focused conversations with families and staff.
* Prepare for meetings by reviewing documents, ensuring all necessary reports are submitted, and coordinating with providers.
* Finalize meeting documentation by updating IEP drafts and collecting any outstanding components (goals, PLEPs, reports).
* Maintain accurate and timely records in accordance with district and state regulations.
Instructional Leadership, Professional Development & Coaching
* Design and deliver professional learning for faculty, ESPs, and school teams (online and in-person).
* Facilitate PLCs focused on inclusion, accommodations, and behavior supports.
* Conduct classroom observations and provide targeted feedback and resources to improve inclusive instruction.
* Offer office hours and one-on-one consultations to support teachers with instructional strategies, accommodations, and behavior plans.
