MTEI Coordinator

The James McCormick Family Teaching Excellence Institute (MTEI) is embedded within the Duffield College of Engineering and also supports the Bowers College of Computing and Information Sciences. MTEI is committed to collaborating with faculty to improve teaching, with particular emphasis in providing support for new faculty, active learning methods, classroom design and support, faculty engagement with teaching innovation, and leveraging technology.

MTEI offers training and support in teaching new faculty with a focus on creating courses that engage all students in learning and developing both technical skills and teamwork skills. MTEI gathers mid-semester student feedback for nearly all engineering courses and most courses in Computer Science and Information Science, providing students an anonymous way to provide feedback to faculty. MTEI works with faculty to resolve issues in teaching and to support innovation and growth in teaching methods to make learning effective for all our students.

In addition, you will coordinate faculty development programs and events as well as the Teaching Technology Lending Library, coordinate operational logistics, support budget administration, and supervise student staff.
